Thanksgiving of 2020 is definitely different than any other year.
Everyone around the globe has been impacted by the global pandemic,
And Thanksgiving gathering is not the same as it used to be.
But, when we focus on the bad, we sure gonna find more of it, and our overall state of being is getting filled with stress, anxiety, sadness and even a sense of hopelessness and helplessness.
A proven antidote for those emotions is
gratitude. Gratitude is a positive emotional state in which one recognizes and appreciates what one has received in life. Positive psychology researches, as appear in the Harvard Medical School “Giving Thanks can make you happier” article, show that taking time to experience gratitude can make you happier and healthier, build strong relationships and deal with sense of adversity.
There are so many things to be grateful for in life: For our breath, for every functioning organ, for our healthy mind and body, for family and friends, for the roof over our heads, for the food on our table, for the beauty of nature, for kindness and more.
Make it a habit to practice gratitude and track your level of contentment and happiness.
For the next seven days, take 5-10 minutes each night to write down five things for which you are grateful. They can be little things or big things. But you really have to focus on them and actually write them down. As you do that, take a moment to be mindful of the things you’re writing about. Do this each night for a whole week.
Looking forward to hearing how it has changed your focus, and how you feel different after the practice.
Happy Thanksgiving 2020 :-)
Much Love & Gratitude
